Born in Norfolk Virginia, Devin grew up traveling up and down the east coast. He has lived in many states from Florida to Alaska and quite a few in between. Devin's adventurous spirit has taken him around the world spanning careers from commercial fishing, Bush aircraft mechanic, film and television, sailing, and a near 20 year career as an Aircraft Interior Designer for Custom V.I.P Jet Interiors for some very recognizable names. It was during this time in aviation that he realized that interior textiles were not being maintained and preserved properly, and were being prematurely replaced due to poor maintenance. His passions turned to preserving textiles specifically in the aviation environment and he never looked back. Paul V'Soske introduced Fiber ProTector to Devin back in 2005 and he has been using it ever since.
Devin holds IICRC, MRC, and Woolsafe Certifications, an Airframe and Powerplant license from the FAA, and also runs Fiber Specialties, Fiber ProTector's Applicator and Boutique Rug Shop in Boise Idaho.
Jim is from South Louisiana, where the art of descriptive storytelling is a time-honored tradition. Jim’s love of people and his need for a fast-paced, exciting, and merit-driven vocation naturally led him to a career in sales and marketing. He has spent the last 25 years working for and with some of the most successful, high-end textile restoration and protection firms in the country. Jim’s accomplishments in this field has led to opportunities to share his experience both as a consultant and a speaker. Rohm Ph.D. Jim lives outside of Nashville, TN with his wife Rebekah and their little black cat Luna.
Vision and innovation have been the hallmarks of Paul V’Soske’s career as a third generation carpet designer and manufacturer. His first professional commission was to design and build three original massive lobby carpets for the grand opening of the Yamasaki Century Plaza Hotel in 1965 at the age of 22. Subsequent commissions have illustrated his career including special carpets for US ambassadorial residences, corporations, institutions, private and business jets, affluent homes and yachts world wide.
In 2004, after being introduced to Fiber Protector and with rigorous testing, it became a default procedure in Paul’s highly technical manufacturing process as an indispensable value added benefit for his customers. In Paul’s words, “No other technical improvement in our lifetime has been as significant as Fiber ProTector for extending the life cycle of our expensive and vulnerable hand tufted wool carpets".
Over ten years ago, Mr. V’Soske envisioned and facilitated the establishment of Fiber ProTector America in cooperation and partnership with Espen Vogt, the Norwegian founder. His continual invention of proprietary methodology and textural expression is what has defined his unique and original work as a textile artist and colorist for seven decades.
Fiber ProTector Norge and its flagship textile protection product was founded by Espen Johan Vogt. Growing up in Norway, Espen has always enjoyed the challenging outdoor environment of Skandinavia and had always been attentive to the proper textiles for clothing and gear. After finishing his schooling with emphasis in chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics, he joined the Norwegian Navy, received specialized diving education and proudly served in the Norwegian Naval Special Forces. After leaving the Navy, he spent some time in the early Norwegian oil industry as a deep sea diver on the building of the North Sea Condeep oil platforms. Afterwards he spent the next 15 years in publishing sales and sales management. In the early 1990's he realized a need, and started to develop a product that could be applied to high end textiles in the aviation and marine industry that had a high level of performance while offering an environmentally friendly footprint.
Since then Fiber ProTector has become the #1 textile protection product in Europe. Espen has two daughters and spends most of his time traveling between countries visiting the many business relations that Fiber ProTector has around the World.
Derick Porter is a fifth generation Idahoan whose families lineage dates back to the early days of Idaho Statehood. Derick spent half a decade in the V.I.P. Aviation interior industry where his keen eye for detail led him to become highly specialized in the custom hand tufted carpeting and custom upholstery area of the industry. Now dedicated to his passion for rug cleaning he holds multiple certifications from the IICRC and Woolsafe and is continually attending classes, training events, and communicating with industry front runners to hone his craft and keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the industry.
Derick is Fiber ProTector's Equipment and Application Specialist, as well as building and maintaining all of Fiber ProTector's equipment on site and for sale. He is also the head Rug and Textile Cleaning Specialist at Fiber Specialties. Derick enjoys spending time with his daughter Lilly and keeping up with his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.
